It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas here at Grape and Grain

For most that is decorations, mistletoe, and lights on a tree 🎄

However, here it means something different- boxes, and loads of them!

📦📦📦📦📦📦📦📦📦📦📦

These aren’t any old boxes though. These boxes contains almost a year’s work hunting out diverse and unique wines for our customers. We worked closely alongside some of our suppliers, old and new, to source the best quality wines for the right price.

The final pieces of the jigsaw have arrived this week as new wines from producers from all around the world landed in Morpeth.

Although, the best way to see our range is to come into store and see for yourself, i will aim to get a comprehensive lists on our website in the next couple of weeks.

To give you a flavour of what we’ve done, here’s a list of improvements we’ve made to the range:-

ITALY 🇮🇹– we started to work with new specialist suppliers to give you a range that sources wines directly from producers, including a sulphite-free Chianti and Pet Nat Sparkling.
FRANCE 🇫🇷– an increase in the range of sparkling wines and classic still wines, including Crements from the Loire and Alsace. Also, Esprit Nature Organic Champagne, once described by famous wine critic Robert Parker as “the best champagne you’ve never heard of!”
SPAIN 🇪🇸– we’ve increased the amount of regions represented in our range, including still wines from Catalunya and Gran Canaria!
PORTUGAL 🇵🇹– we’ve DOUBLED the amount of wines and fortified wines we sell from this amazing country. From Vinho Verde in the north, to Alentejo in the south.
NZ 🇳🇿 – we’ve brought in more wines from regions other than Marlborough- including wines from Hawke’s Bay and Martinborough on the north island. Also from Central Otago on the South Island, including Sam Neil’s Two Paddocks selection of wines.
AUSTRLIA 🇦🇺– a country close to my heart and I’ve created a wine range to match my enthusiasm for this place. There’s now a greater focus on the high end quality wines from this amazing country with some classics and some newbies.
USA 🇺🇸– we’ve shifted the focus from California, to get more wine from places that don’t usually get the limelight. They include Washington State, Oregon, and New York State, all of which have spectacular wines of their own.
ARGENTINA 🇦🇷– although Malbec is great (and we’ve got a few of those), we’ve increased the number of other grape varieties in our range and included wines from Salta in the far north, to Patagonia in the South.
CHILE 🇨🇱– we’ve pushed up the bar and stocked up on some of the higher quality wines that this country has to offer. A new arrival is the indigenous grape variety, Pais.
SOUTH AFRICA 🇿🇦– we’ve DOUBLED the amount of wine we have from this majestic country with every major wine region represented in our range. One to watch out for is an Orange wine made from Chenin Blanc.

Alongside those we have wines from England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿, Austria 🇦🇹, Germany 🇩🇪, Hungary 🇭🇺, Romania 🇷🇴, Bulgaria 🇧🇬, Croatia 🇭🇷, Greece 🇬🇷, Turkey 🇹🇷, Uruguay 🇺🇾, and from the world famous Chateau Musar in Lebanon 🇱🇧

Come in and check for yourselves! It was worth all the hard work. Wine is our main passion. Always will be.

Cheers
Mark
